If you’ve never tried adding bacon to regular old chocolate chip cookies, I suggest you do. Still working on it, but currently I recommend added at least 1.5-2 cups of chopped cooked bacon to your regular recipe. A normal recipe tends to call for about 1 cup of brown sugar and white sugar, 2 cups of flour and 2 eggs, 2 cups of chips and a few other things (salt and soda for example).

This is truly one of the best photos I’ve taken in a while. My sister did a quick fly by visit from Hawai’i and I caught this while we were all out on the parents’ farm. I could have just snuggled up in this field forever. So awesome!

Went for a little adventure between the neighbour’s house and our own.
This pathway basically leads from our front garden, past one of the bedrooms in the house, to our back porch.

This pathway has a barbecue full of potting soil and some tomato plants. I live with creative individuals for sure.

Oh wow! Has it ever been a while since my last post! Sorry about that, but goodness is summertime ever distracting :)

At least in Ontario it’s been so hot (at least this past two weeks!) that even being NEAR a computer is far too toasty. Whew, I’m breaking a sweat just typing this, haha.

Last weekend was Mother’s Day, so big brother and I took a swing by the homestead to give mom a squeeze and some treats. As usual I took my camera in hopes of snagging some sweet pictures of their wildlife.

Sally seems to always look stoic and confident while Jenna makes faces at me.

I love these furry four-legged friends!

So once in awhile I get a little bored with what I’m viewing through my camera’s lens so I’ll switch things up a little. Instagram appears to have taken the phone photographer world by storm by giving users a million and one ways to spice up their simple, daily pics. Now I don’t own an iPhone, so I cheaped out. An EXTREMELY affordable and fun way to make interesting photos is to use your sunglasses as a lens filter. The larger styles that are out nowadays (including aviators, of course) tend to have a gradient (gradual fade) to them and have some interesting hues. The ones I used for this photo have a purple to almost green gradient and I’m really digging the way this photo came out. I’ll post some photos of trees using the same technique soon!!

I should add that I haven’t Photoshopped this picture in any way! Since I use a Digital SLR I believe that what I wish to attain in a photograph is so easily aquired during a shoot because my camera is so easily manipulated!

Getting Friendly

Hey there! sorry it’s been such a long time, I’ve apparently been far to busy with nothing in particular. Actually, I have 3 part-time jobs and so I’m usually filling the gaps between them with love and socializing.

So where do I begin? I believe I’ll just start sporadically uploading photos that I click at random. Just a few glimpses into what I’ve been up to!

What I’ve got here is a sweet little snap of my parents’ wee Scottish Terrier, Max (named by my dad, who can’t get enough of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas). He was the runt of his litter, and reminds me of a pot bellied pig. In a nice way! He’s the funniest little fellow. This is him getting ready for some loving rubs as he snuggles up to my boyfriend’s leg. He gets into a funny mood where he isn’t sure if he should be loving or territorial, so he’ll put out a growl while wagging his tail. He’s the king of mixed signals.

The second shot is of Max trying to appear shy and reserved. He’s really just a sleepy boy that doesn’t appreciate being woken up for photographs. He’s nearly 8 years old, so he’s starting to slow down, but only a bit.

I’ve recently purchased a Canon Rebel T2i and we’re getting along famously. It was pretty cold out, so I chose to shoot indoors. Miss Bucket was conveniently napping on the couch and looking adorable. I’m really enjoying the option of shooting in monochrome. Definitely adds depth and looks classy.

Meet Ruby Tuesday, or Ruby for short. She was born a week before (Canadian) Thanksgiving, so she’s only about 3 months old. She’s the sweetest little donkey, and seems to have taken a liking to me. She lives out in Selwyn Township with my parents. If you’ve read some of my earlier posts than you’ve seen her ma and pa, Jenna and Jake. I think they’re pretty proud!
